Our Power
Cafe seren is fully solar and wind powerd. We aim to help keep our carbon footprint to a minimum by offering a generator free event. Our maximum out put is 625 watts of solar panels and 1kw +175 watts from our wind turbines. So whatever the weather we are always producing power.
Components
Solar panels and the wind turbine produces the power which passes through the charge regulator. (The charge regulator prevents the batteries from overcharging). Power then gets stored in the batteries which allows
us to operate at night time or in bad weather.
The system controller then monitors the power being used and the amount of power left in the batteries.
From the system controller we take the 12v dc loads ie sound system and some of the lights. We also use an inverter which produces 240v ac power for ie sound desk, dj decks, guitar amps, light bulbs. The inverter also runs through the system controller giving us complete control in monitoring and running our set up.
